Cookies and analytics
This site measures its traffic with a single tool, and only if you agree to it. Nothing is set before you choose, and that choice can be revoked in one click.
The principle
No analytics cookie is set until you have accepted. The Google Analytics script is not even loaded: it is loaded only after you accept. Declining leaves the site fully working, with no degraded page and no second prompt.
What works without your consent
Your choice itself is kept in your browser's local storage, under the key “salime-cookie-consent”. It is not a cookie, it never reaches any server, and it exists only so that you are not asked again on every page. Clearing the site data removes it.
What is set once you accept
Google Analytics 4, for traffic only: pages viewed, referral source, device type, and a few deliberate actions such as sending the form or playing a video. IP addresses are truncated, no data is used for advertising and no profile is built.
Changing your mind
The “Manage cookies” link at the foot of every page reopens the consent window whatever you chose before. Declining after having accepted stops the measurement immediately, with no reload.
What is set, in detail
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Tells visitors apart. Set by Google Analytics, only after you accept. | 13 months |
| _ga_<identifier> | Keeps the measurement session alive. Set by Google Analytics, only after you accept. | 13 months |
| salime-cookie-consent | Stores your choice. Browser local storage, not a cookie, never transmitted. | Until the site data is cleared |
